Latest Procedures & Requirements

Indonesia does away with PCR tests and eases mask-wearing rule.

 

Indonesia has removed pre-flight PCR or ART tests for inbound International and Domestic travelers, including returning Indonesians. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated people in non-crowded outdoor spaces. Arriving travelers will only need to undergo a health check at the airport for any Covid-19-related symptoms.

 

The Circular Letter issued by Indonesia Covid-19 Task Force on May 18 stipulated that travelers must comply with the new health protocol: download the PeduliLindungi tracing app, show proof of their second Covid-19 vaccination obtained at least 14 days prior to departure, and have insurance covering Covid-19 medication and evacuation to referral hospitals.

 

For international arrivals to Indonesia:

The main change is that the remaining PCR test prior to arrival has been removed for fully vaccinated travelers.

 

The latest procedure and requirements for entering Indonesia are:

  • Depending on the nationality, visitors must present a B211A visa approval letter or request a VOA (Visa-on-Arrival). The list of 72 countries eligible for VOA remains unchanged (updated 30May’22)

 

  • Physical or digital evidence in English that shows the visitor is fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure (no booster necessary)

 

  • Children under 18 years are exempted from this rule

 

  • Download the PeduliLindung application and complete travel details.

 

  • Proof of ownership of health insurance covering COVID-19. No minimum coverage is mentioned in the latest regulation but we recommend a minimum coverage of US$ 25,000 (or equivalent in other currencies)

 

  • Upon arrival, no PCR testing or quarantine is necessary if the body temperature is below 37.5 degrees Celsius.
    A PCR Test and 5 days of quarantine are ONLY necessary if the temperature of the visitor is above 37.5 degrees Celsius.

 

This policy is eligible for entry through the international airports of Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Batam, Bintan, Manado, Lombok, Medan, Makassar, Yogyakarta, Banda Aceh, Padang, Palembang, Solo, Banjarmasin and Balikpapan, and all international seaports.

 

The cost of a Visa on Arrival (VOA): IDR 500,000 (approx. 38 USD) and can be paid on a credit or debit card. Cash is accepted in EUR, GBP, AUD, USD, SGD, and IDR.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

The Meridian Adventure Dive Professional Training Programme provides you with a complete education in both PADI standards and procedures along with our Meridian Adventure Dive tried and tested procedures focused on guest orientated diving services: ensuring professionalism, efficiency, and safety. Each year a selected few candidates are accepted into the Programme. Meridian Adventure Dive covers the costs of the trainee’s education, which will set up graduates for a successful start in the diving industry

Train to Dive in Indonesia

IN YOUR FIRST MONTH

WEEK 1: Introduction to the Meridian Adventure Dive Ethos and Safety Arrive in Raja Ampat and undergo introduction on the programme, dive tenders, and resort procedures. Trainees become acquainted with the standard operating procedures and set drills used in day-to-day operations.

WEEK 2: Theory Seminars and Exams Diving theory workshops and exams are taken in week two to ensure trainees have a thorough understanding of the diving world. This includes diving physics, physiology, equipment, dive planning and PADI standards and procedures.

WEEK 3: PADI Divemaster fitness and water skills Week three is focused on water skills both in confined water and open water. This section introduces trainees to the PADI way of skill presentations and guest-focused diving skills and courses.

WEEK 4: Guest service-focused training In week four trainees take knowledge and skills obtained from the intensive 3-week training modules and are introduced to guest-focused services while completing their PADI practical skills and assessments.

FOUNDATIONS OF THE MERIDIAN ADVENTURE DIVE PROFESSIONAL COURSE

PADI STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES In-depth training and practical applications of PADI Dive Professional Standards and Procedures. This includes PADI Divemaster specific courses and programmes, Professional level dive skills training and real-life applications in a working PADI 5 Star Resort.

TENDER OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Trainees are introduced to safe dive tender practices and procedures. This includes dive specific boat handling and safety. We also train you in deck and engineering procedures used in the Superyacht industry. Our dive tenders are set apart from the rest of the world with their custom design and preventative maintenance programme.

CONSERVATION AND COMMUNITY

All Meridian Adventure Dive practices are centred around Conservation and Community. You will be involved in proactive conservation and community projects. This includes community upliftment and education, data collection, environmental clean-up projects, invasive species removal and coral planting. Our Trainees also receive training in PADI and Project Aware Conservation courses.

DIVE OPERATION MANAGEMENT

You will be trained in Dive Operation Management in a working PADI 5 Star resort environment. Day-to-day operation procedures and planning are key to running a successful diving resort. Meridian Adventure Dive has perfected this, and trainees will be involved in every aspect of Operations. We deliver our divers to the right site at the right time every time to give them Incredible, Amazing, Unbelievable diving and water sports experiences. You will be part of the team making this happen learning how to plan itineraries and logistics for every trip.

MARKETING AND ADMINISTRATION

Marketing and Administration plays a key role in the diving industry. We provide trainees with a platform to learn essential skills to build a successful diving marketing and administration plan and successfully take all they have learnt in the programme and positively influence the rest of the diving world.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AFTER PROGRAMME

After completing the Meridian Adventure Dive Professional Training Programme, you will be prepared to start a career as a Dive Professional. Becoming a Dive Master is the first step in the dive professional career ladder and a requirement for all dive instructor courses. Selected trainees will be given the opportunity to earn commission by joining our team as Channel Managers and work in collaboration with Meridian Adventure Dive to give guests Incredible, Amazing and Unbelievable diving experiences in Raja Ampat.

PADI Advanced Open Water certified • PADI Rescue Diver certified • EFR Primary and Secondary Care completed within the last 24 months • Medical Statement “Fit to Dive” • At least 40 logged dives • CV • Passport • Please note that qualifying certifications from other dive training organisations may apply.
