We ended 2018 off with an immense feeling of gratitude and accomplishment here in Raja Ampat. Not only did we get to meet amazing and like-minded adventure enthusiasts around the world as they joined us as guests, but we also got to expand our resort, our offering and continued to extend our helping hand to the communities that surround us.
WE CHAMPIONED CHANGE!
Throughout 2018, we remained committed to making a positive impact beyond the resort itself. From beach and mangrove clean-ups alongside local government and surrounding communities to creating new opportunities through training and education, we continued to invest in the people and environment of Raja Ampat.
We were proud to provide in-house scuba and first-aid training for our team, helping build skills, confidence, and safety standards across the resort. We also supported students and teachers through work experience opportunities, giving local young people valuable exposure to tourism, hospitality, and marine adventure in Raja Ampat.
WE EXTENDED OUR MERIDIAN ADVENTURE DIVE RAJA AMPAT RESORT!
At the same time, we continued improving the resort with projects that reflected our long-term vision. In 2018, we completed the view platform, the wooden jetty for the marina, and the Mangrove Terrace, while also starting our own herb, fruit, and vegetable garden. Each of these additions was designed to enrich the guest experience while strengthening our connection to the natural surroundings.
WE HAVE EXPANDED OUR OFFERING!
2018 was also a year of exciting development for the Meridian Adventure experience. We introduced new adventure activities that gave guests even more ways to discover the beauty of Raja Ampat, both above and below the water. From unforgettable land excursions to unique outdoor experiences, we continued to grow into more than just a dive destination.
Underwater, our passion for exploration led us to discover new dive sites, creating even more opportunities for divers to experience the extraordinary marine biodiversity that Raja Ampat is known for. Every new site added another layer to the adventure and helped us continue sharing the magic of this region with our guests.
We also launched The MAD Bunch, our week-long crew appreciation package designed especially for yacht crew members. It was a fun and rewarding way to welcome a new group of travelers to Meridian Adventure Dive Raja Ampat and expand the kinds of experiences we could offer.
WE EVEN MADE NEW FRIENDS!
One of the highlights of the year was connecting with inspiring people and brands who share our passion for adventure, travel, and meaningful experiences. During our annual brand photoshoot, we had the pleasure of working with talented models, photographers, and creative partners, all while showcasing the beauty and spirit of Raja Ampat.
We were also incredibly proud to become part of the Wonderful Indonesia family, an important milestone that reflected both how far we had come and the exciting direction ahead. It was a moment of recognition not only for our team, but also for the destination we are so proud to call home.
As we stepped into 2019, we did so with excitement, ambition, and deep appreciation for everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We look forward to welcoming even more guests to Meridian Adventure Dive Raja Ampat and sharing new adventures, experiences, and unforgettable moments in one of Indonesia’s most extraordinary places.
